 It is necessary to look at the works for the exposition “Hilando Textiles,” by Rosemary Golcher, as texts, which develop a language elaborated with four primary elements: paper, water-colour pigments, leadwork . . .

“There is no simple ´now´”: each present is asynchronic, a mixture of different times.  Therefore, there is no timely transition, that is, between the modern (we could consider it as photographic) and the postmodern (the digital), our consciousness of a period not only originates from the fact: it also comes from the parallax.

  Art to the streets!

 This was the revolutionary cry that was heard in all the cultural spheres of the world during the students´ movements of 1968.

 But from then on, aside from some “performances” or “fad” productions, art continues to belong to traditional sanctuaries: the galleries and museums, in which the hierophants—curators, marchands and critics—define the tendencies, anoint the elected and astonish the créme de la créme, recommending and selling the latest thing in the “medium,” exactly as it happened in the 18th century when the rising bourgeoisie used to collect art . . .
